The 2026 H1 new energy vehicle sales TOP100 rankings are out. Geely Xingyuan won the crown with 194,159 units, followed by Tesla Model Y at 172,513 units. Li Auto i6 and Xiaomi YU7 both exceeded 100,000 units, breaking into the top five. H1 domestic auto sales reached 15.017 million units, while NEV sales hit 7.438 million units, up 7.3% YoY.
Xingyuan Tops the Charts, Rewriting the Budget EV Landscape
On July 19, CPCA released the 2026 H1 NEV sales TOP100 rankings. Notably, Geely Xingyuan clinched the championship with 194,159 units, pushing the perennial leader Tesla Model Y into second place.
As a sub-100,000-yuan compact pure-electric SUV, Xingyuan's success was no accident. Priced at 59,800-94,800 yuan, it precisely targeted the 50,000-100,000 yuan pure-electric commuter segment that BYD had not fully covered. For around 70,000 yuan, consumers get Flyme Auto and decent design quality, highly attractive to young people and female users.
Tesla Model Y ranked second with 172,513 units, up 0.6% YoY, demonstrating strong brand resilience. As the only foreign brand in the top 10, Model Y's position remains difficult to shake in the short term.
New Force Pure-Electric Strategy Pays Off
A notable trend: Li Auto, which built its reputation on range-extender technology, saw its pure-electric model Li Auto i6 reach 120,443 units in H1, ranking third with over 20,000 units monthly. This marks a successful phase in Li Auto's transition from EREV to BEV.
Xiaomi Auto also performed impressively. Xiaomi YU7 ranked fourth with 104,559 units, while Xiaomi SU7 ranked sixth with 80,500 units, combining for over 180,000 units. Xiaomi leveraged its ecosystem advantages and traffic appeal to carve out space in the competitive 200,000-300,000 yuan segment.
SUV Dominance, Sedans Fading
H1 domestic auto sales were 15.017 million units, down 4.1% YoY. However, NEVs bucked the trend with cumulative sales of 7.438 million units, up 7.3% YoY. Pure-electric models accounted for 4.989 million units, representing 67% of the NEV market.
Only two sedans made the top 10: Geely Xingyuan and Xiaomi SU7. The rest were all SUVs, reflecting strong consumer preference for SUVs.
