On July 24, at the 2026 China Auto Forum, Geely's Liao Huihong delivered a speech. She pointed out that electrification and intelligence are redefining automotive safety boundaries, exposing cracks in traditional quality control systems.
Specific challenges include:
- Smart Driving: Struggling to cover vast arrays of long-tail road conditions
- Cabin Safety: Occupant protection failing in reclined seating positions
- Cybersecurity: Internet connectivity inviting hacker attacks
- Battery Safety: Thermal runaway risks after collisions
