SAIC MG announced that the MG 07 has accumulated more than 42,000 locked orders within 20 days of launch, with versions offering over 800 km of CLTC range accounting for more than 45% of early orders. The car is priced from 108,900 to 159,900 yuan. Based on the Nebula platform, it offers plug-in hybrid and pure electric dual powertrains. This fastback sedan went on sale on August 21 at the 2026 Chengdu Auto Show, and the company says it hit 10,000 locked orders just 1 minute 57 seconds after pre-orders opened, breaking the previous record of 39 minutes 37 seconds set by the MG4. Pricing and order mix: 45% of orders go to the 800 km+ version

The BEV version splits into two technical paths. The 400V models use a 176 kW (236 hp) motor and a 67 kWh Qingtao battery, with the 610 km version featuring semi-solid-state cells and offering 610 km or 650 km of CLTC range depending on trim (about 460 km and 490 km WLTP). The long-range version upgrades to an 800V silicon carbide electrical architecture, a 235 kW (315 hp) motor and a 91 kWh CATL ternary battery, with 845 km of CLTC range (about 640 km WLTP) and support for 5C charging.
Benchmarking the Seal 06 DM-i and MONA M03: differentiation lands on the features side
In the 100,000–160,000 yuan price band, the MG 07's direct rivals are the BYD Seal 06 DM-i and the XPeng MONA M03.
The Seal 06 DM-i starts at 99,800 yuan (about US$14,880), and its main competitive points are a lower entry price and PHEV efficiency; its electric range is shorter than the MG 07 PHEV's 245 km CLTC. MG, for its part, offers lidar and adaptive dampers on some trims.
The XPeng MONA M03 is also a BEV option, using a 400V architecture and a rear torsion beam suspension; the MG 07 uses a rear multi-link suspension and is equipped with electronically controlled dampers, whose mCDC system supports AI road preview scanning within a 15–150-meter range, with up to 200 damping adjustments per second.
ADAS features: lidar comes down to 115,900 yuan
Some MG 07 trims carry a roof-mounted lidar, with the system using the Momenta R7 enhanced world model and the X7 in-house large-model chip. The sensor appears on three models: the PHEV 245 Lidar, BEV 610 Lidar and BEV 845 Lidar.
After accounting for the launch subsidy, the PHEV 245 Lidar starts at 115,900 yuan (about US$17,280), which the source describes as one of the cheaper factory roof-lidar models in the Chinese market; the BEV 845 Lidar is priced at 146,900 yuan (about US$21,900), offering an 800V architecture and 845 km of range for under 150,000 yuan.

MG has already expanded battery lines in advance for supply, but the actual pace of the vehicle production ramp-up will determine whether these orders can be converted smoothly.
