Flash Charge Technology Progress

BYD's charging infrastructure deployment is accelerating:

  • The 10,000th flash charge station was completed on August 28, setting three records
  • Domestic target of 20,000 flash charge stations by year-end
  • Target of 90,000 flash charge stations by 2028, according to Observer Network
  • Overseas target: over 2.5 million vehicles shipped by 2027

BYD CTO Sun Huajun stated at the World Power Battery Conference that the second-generation Blade Battery and flash charge represent systematic innovation, breaking through energy density and safety bottlenecks to support flash charge vehicle deployment.

Regarding online rumors of 250,000 flash charge vehicle orders backlogged, BYD denied this on September 8. However, investor records disclosed that second-generation Blade Battery monthly capacity is ramping up in H2, flash charge model orders are strong, and production is being expanded.

Overseas Market Expansion

BYD's globalization continues to advance:

  • Pakistan: On September 9, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif delivered 50 BYD new energy vehicles (including Sea Lion 07 and Yuan models) to Islamabad police, with nearly 100 units ordered this year, marking BYD's support for Pakistan's new energy upgrade and bilateral cooperation
  • France: BYD and XPENG are jointly entering the French market with high-spec, low-price strategies, but face challenges from French consumers' preference for domestic brands

Sales Performance and Industry Impact

BYD's Da Tang sold 11,010 units in August, a significant increase from the 2,451 units at its June launch, breaking 10,000 within two months of launch, reflecting both improved production capacity and market recognition.

Current automaker profit margins are generally under pressure, with the industry profit margin at just 3.6% for January-July 2026. In this context, BYD is building differentiated competitive moats through technology iteration, product matrix expansion, and charging ecosystem construction.

EX1000.COM analysis suggests that BYD's flash charge technology deployment and dense product launch strategy will have a demonstration effect on Chinese NEV companies exporting to Central Asian and Russian markets.
