At the 2026 China Auto Forum, JAC's Li Weihua issued a warning: while NEV commercial vehicle penetration is rising rapidly, industry price wars are intensifying. As commercial vehicles are capital assets, reliability is paramount, and comprehensive quality control is the key to breakthrough.

Price Wars Spread to Commercial Vehicle Sector

On July 24, at the 2026 China Auto Forum, JAC representative Li Weihua delivered a speech titled "Price Competition Tests Quality; End-to-End Control Is Key." He pointed out that while NEV commercial vehicle penetration continues to climb, the industry's low-price wars are escalating.

"Commercial vehicles are capital assets. Once they break down, it means immediate downtime and operational risk," Li emphasized. "Focusing solely on price often sacrifices long-term reliability, making comprehensive full-chain quality control the essential barrier for automakers to break through the competition."

Policy Support Accelerates Electrification

With policy support, the transition to NEV commercial vehicles is accelerating. In the first half of 2026, domestic NEV commercial vehicle penetration reached 33.7%, with forecasts suggesting it could top 50% by 2030.

Unlike passenger cars, commercial vehicles operate in harsh conditions with high intensity, placing extreme demands on the durability of battery, motor, and electric control systems, as well as overall vehicle safety. In this environment, the negative impact of any quality shortcomings is significantly amplified.

JAC's Quality Breakthrough Strategy
