Chery, Bosch sign Europe ADAS nomination; production to start in 2028, over 800,000 units in five years

Chery Automobile and Bosch signed a project nomination in Paris. The two parties will cooperate on Chery's first batch of localized ADAS projects in Europe, covering Bosch's fourth-generation multi-purpose camera MPC4 and an integrated driving and parking system. The system is planned to be installed on six all-new Chery models, with mass production to start in 2028 and total output expected to exceed 800,000 units over a five-year cycle. Bosch disclosed that MPC4 series camera nominations have covered more than 50 models, with orders exceeding the ten-million-unit level; its one-stage high-level intelligent driving assistance solution has completed testing and validation in Germany, France, and Japan, and is planned to achieve road adaptation validation in multiple regions including North America, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and the EU within 2026. This nomination reflects that Chinese automakers' going global is extending from vehicle exports to localization of the intelligent supply chain.

US Presses Mexico to Tighten USMCA Origin Rules; AI Hardware Could Spill Over Into Auto Supply Chain

US Presses Mexico to Tighten USMCA Origin Rules; AI Hardware Could Spill Over Into Auto Supply Chain

The United States is pressuring Mexico in negotiations to revise the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement, planning new rules of origin for AI hardware such as chips and servers to limit the share of components from outside North America and prevent Chinese companies from using Mexico as a route to evade tariffs. The rules would reference the automotive sector's 75% North American component threshold for tariff exemption and could spill over into automotive intelligence segments such as automotive chips. In the first half of this year, Mexico exported $83 billion of AI data center servers, 94% to the United States, up more than 170% year on year. Mexico has agreed to raise tariffs on China but opposes mandatory US-made components. Negotiations are expected to begin as early as next week in Washington.

From 120 to 20: Changan's Tianshu Pilot Enters Mass Production, Betting on the Power to Define Intelligence

In the first half of 2026, domestic passenger vehicle sales totaled 12.72 million units, down 6% year on year; domestic sales fell 24.3%, and the industry's sales profit margin dropped to 3.8%. Over the same period, new energy vehicle penetration rose to 54%. As roughly 100 brands face a shakeout window, Changan Automobile has brought its self-developed intelligentization achievement, Tianshu Pilot, into large-scale mass production after investing more than RMB 60 billion, with the first model to feature it, the Nevo Q06, opening pre-sales. The opportunities and risks of its 'self-development first + open cooperation' path are emerging simultaneously.

From Product Export to Systemic Roots: The Three Stages of Deep Globalization in the Automotive Supply Chain and the Talent Imperative

From Product Export to Systemic Roots: The Three Stages of Deep Globalization in the Automotive Supply Chain and the Talent Imperative

On September 9, 2026, the 20th anniversary celebration of the Automotive Talent Committee of the China Talent Research Society was held. Fu Yuwu, Yang Hong, and others discussed supply chain globalization: technology windows such as electrical/electronic architecture, smart cockpits, and intelligent driving are opening opportunities for Chinese suppliers, but winning orders is only admission. Building plants, R&D, ESG compliance, and cross-cultural system capabilities determine whether they can take root, while interdisciplinary talent ultimately determines how far they can go.
