Buick Zhijing OS V2.1 Full OTA Rollout Adds AES Automatic Emergency Steering

254
Buick announced the full-scene OTA rollout of Zhijing OS V2.1 for its premium NEV sub-brand Zhijing, covering all Zhijing Shijia, L7, and E7 models and trim levels. The upgrade brings 29 enhancements across human-machine interaction, trip planning, intelligent parking, and assisted driving, starting delivery in August.

Upgrade Background: First Smart成果 After JV Renewal

This OTA marks the first landmark achievement of Buick's intelligent strategy following the SAIC-GM joint venture renewal. Joint-venture vehicles have long been criticized for "ship-and-forget" intelligence, with OTA limited to minor patches. The V2.1 upgrade shatters this perception.

Its foundation is the Pan Asia-native Xiaoyao Super Fusion Architecture — the first full-domain integrated NEV architecture developed by a joint-venture OEM specifically for China. Xiaoyao connects chassis, powertrain, assisted driving, and intelligent cockpit domains,预留ing upgrade capacity from the design stage to enable cross-domain, large-scale, high-frequency iteration via OTA.

"We believe vehicle delivery is not the end of the smart experience, but the beginning of continuous evolution," said Liu Zhen, VP of Buick Marketing.

Four Core Scenario Upgrades

V2.1 covers 5 full-journey scenarios and 14细分 usage scenarios, bringing 15 new capabilities and 14 experience optimizations.

Human-Machine Interaction: AI Cockpit Understands Better

  • One-sentence custom scenario creation: 20+ trigger conditions and 10+ function modules, configurable by voice
  • In-vehicle AI Agent: Active greeting, memory, AI navigation, AI music
  • New AR-HUD koi dynamic visual effects
  • Optimized SR split-screen, home cards, vehicle imaging, mobile app control

Trip Planning: More Flexible Long-Distance and Camping

  • New stay-powered-when-locked function: AC and entertainment remain active after locking
  • Navigation waypoints expanded from 5 to 10
  • New service area overview cards
  • Optimized camping mode: Engine start lock, full EV power supply, energy consumption estimation

Intelligent Parking: No More Parking Line Dependency

  • Upgraded "Free Parking Spot" function: Handles unmarked and faded parking lines in older communities
  • User preference optimization for "parking exactly how you want it"

Assisted Driving: Active Safety Advanced

  • New AES Automatic Emergency Steering: Active in 60-130km/h manual driving, avoiding lateral collision risks
  • Upgraded AEB: Added recognition of boxes,三角牌, and other common obstacles
  • Optimized NOP self-recovery logic: Automatic recovery from ACC to NOP when conditions permit

Safety Architecture: Three-Layer Protection

Zhijing OS establishes an application-layer, service-layer, and electromechanical-layer triple protection system:

  1. Application Layer: AI trained on massive human values data with clear boundaries
  2. Service Layer: Dynamic firewall monitoring speed, gear, etc., intercepting inappropriate commands
  3. Electromechanical Layer: Core vehicle control by independent hardware, physical buttons retain highest priority

The new AES is particularly noteworthy — at 120km/h, the system's avoidance maneuver is "decisive and smooth" without hesitation, addressing the most terrifying highway scenario: sudden obstacles revealed by lane-changing vehicles ahead.

Upgrade Method and Coverage

This rollout is full-quantity普惠, covering all Zhijing Shijia, L7, and E7 models and trims with no分批 delivery. Buick explicitly states "no differential treatment."

Upgrade Steps:

  1. Park on level ground, power on (do not start engine)
  2. Wait ~5 minutes for network connection
  3. Tap "Settings - System Update" on center screen
  4. Tap "Start Update," system auto-downloads and installs
  5. Restart vehicle when prompted

The Zhijing E7 surpassed 10,000 units in its first month, demonstrating strong market competitiveness. This全系无差别 OTA upgrade further fulfills Buick's long-term commitment to equal rights for existing owners.
