Wuling Commuter Vehicle Users to Exceed 3 Million, MINIEV Tops A00 Segment for 71 Consecutive Months

SAIC-GM-Wuling's cumulative commuter vehicle user base is set to surpass 3 million. The Hongguang MINIEV has accumulated over 1.95 million users, ranking first in China's A00 pure EV segment for 71 consecutive months and topping global micro-NEV cumulative sales. The Binguo series has garnered over 750,000 users. The fifth-generation Hongguang MINIEV, rebranded as Wuling Aira ev, officially launched at the Indonesia GIIAS auto show with a starting price of 155 million rupiah, marking Wuling's formal entry into the Southeast Asian market.

3 Million Milestone: The Nine-Year Journey of the People's Commuter Car

On July 31, 2026, SAIC-GM-Wuling officially announced that the total owner base of its entire short-distance commuter vehicle lineup is about to break through the 3 million mark. The brand will host the Hongguang MINIEV 6th Anniversary and Wuling Commuter Vehicle 3 Million User Celebration on August 7 at Chengdu Open-Air Music Park.

Behind this number lies Wuling's persistent cultivation of the micro short-distance mobility segment since 2017. From the early Baojun E100 and E200 experiments to the blockbuster launch of the Hongguang MINIEV in 2020, and then the blossoming of the Binguo family, Wuling has imprinted its brand on the "commuter car" category in less than a decade.

Dual Flagship Models Anchor the Sales Foundation

Within Wuling's commuter vehicle portfolio, two flagship models form a clear differentiated complement:

  • Hongguang MINIEV: Over 1.95 million cumulative users, ranking first in China's A00 pure EV segment for 71 consecutive months, with cumulative sales topping the global micro-NEV leaderboard. The model has become synonymous with "the people's commuter car" through its ultra-compact dimensions, ultra-low operating costs, and rich customization potential.
  • Binguo Family: Positioned as a refined home-oriented offering, the series has accumulated over 750,000 users, creating complementary coverage across affordable commuting and quality household use cases.

Wuling's sustained dominance stems from precisely hitting user pain points:

  1. Extremely compact dimensions eliminate parking and narrow-lane stress in cities
  2. Operating cost of roughly 4 cents per kilometer, crushing ICE alternatives on economy
  3. Mature customization culture allows young owners to express individuality
  4. Over 2,800 service outlets nationwide deliver convenient maintenance access

Fifth-Gen Hongguang MINIEV Goes Global: Aira ev Debuts in Indonesia

While solidifying its domestic base, Wuling is accelerating the globalization of its commuter vehicles. On July 29, 2026, the fifth-generation Hongguang MINIEV debuted at the Indonesia GIIAS International Auto Show under the new name Wuling Aira ev, officially launching in the Indonesian market at a starting price of 155 million rupiah (~RMB 59,615).

The fifth-generation model adopts an all-new design language with a closed front grille, round headlight clusters, and a star-ring LED light bar that visually widens the front fascia. Dimensions are 3,268×1,520×1,575mm with a wheelbase of 2,190mm. It features a segment-exclusive four-door, four-seat layout, with rear seats folding in a 5:5 split to expand trunk capacity to 838L.

Safety features include a ring-frame cage body with 60% high-strength steel, 1,500MPa ultra-high-strength steel in critical zones, and dual front airbags as standard.

To resonate with overseas young consumers, the Indonesia-bound Aira ev partnered with Disney-Pixar's *Toy Story 5* for a cross-brand collaboration, presenting a more playful image to local young families. This marks a critical step for Wuling's commuter vehicles from "China's people's car" to "the global people's car." For dealers and buyers in Central Asia, Russia, and emerging markets tracking micro-EV export opportunities, Wuling's successful Southeast Asian trial carries significant reference value — more export model details available at EX1000.COM.
