Dongfeng-Huawei Yijing X9: Can Its RMB 10 Billion R&D, Thousands-Person Co-creation Model Be Replicated?
Dongfeng Motor and Huawei Qiankun jointly created the Yijing brand; its first model, the Yijing X9, will go on sale in September 2026 with a presale price range of 299,800 to 379,800 yuan, and received 21,235 orders within 24 hours of presale. The two parties began cooperation in 2023 and upgraded to phase 2.0 in 2025, with over 10 billion yuan in cumulative planned R&D funding and a joint team of thousands. The new car is positioned as a flagship SUV, equipped with six major intelligent solutions including Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 and HarmonyOS cockpit, adopts a range-extended powertrain, and has a CLTC comprehensive range of 1,570 km.
