2026 NEV Rural Outreach Launches: 155 Models Selected, Xiaomi SU7 and Tesla Model 3 Included

On June 18, China's MIIT, Ministry of Commerce, and three other agencies announced the 2026 New Energy Vehicle Rural Outreach model list, with 155 models selected. Unlike the 2009 program focused solely on low-cost micro vehicles, this round covers the full price spectrum from budget commuters to premium models priced above 300k yuan. The Xiaomi SU7, Tesla Model 3, XPeng M03, BYD Han, Tank 300, and Fang Cheng Bao Titanium 7 are all included. Policy tools have evolved from simple subsidies to an integrated system combining model catalogs, trade-in programs, and charging infrastructure deployment, marking a shift from "cheap cars to rural areas" to "NEV product ecosystem下沉."
