CATL and Alfen Sign 5 GWh Sodium-Ion Energy Storage Deal: European Commercial Deployment Begins

On July 16, CATL signed an MoU with Alfen N.V., a leading European renewable energy integrator, to deploy 5 GWh of CATL's Tianheng sodium-ion energy storage systems across the Netherlands and Western Europe from 2027. The system is designed for a 25-year lifespan with nearly 2% RTE improvement and is compatible with LFP technology, providing a zero-carbon diversification option for Europe's energy transition.
