1,600 Hongqi Vehicles Shipped to Iraq, FAW's Overseas Expansion Enters Batch-Order Stage

In early October, 1,600 Hongqi vehicles from China FAW were loaded and shipped to Iraq, covering models such as the HS3 and HS5. They were delivered as bulk orders, showing that FAW's Middle East dealership system is already capable of handling them. FAW's overseas expansion is shifting from single-vehicle trade to parallel bulk orders, local production and overseas channel building, with markets covering the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Africa and Latin America. In September, Hongqi entered the Italian market. At the same time, FAW released a new round of technology iteration roadmap, laying out frontier tracks such as solid-state batteries and automotive intelligent large models, and building four major safety capabilities. Overseas expansion and technological transformation are advancing in parallel.

2021 was regarded as the golden age for auto stocks, with the CSI New Energy Vehicle Index climbing 56.96% for the year. Can XPENG Replicate Its China Success Overseas? 2026 Global Strategy Deep Dive

XPENG is pushing its globalization strategy with unprecedented intensity. In June 2026, XPENG achieved a record-high global delivery of 27,907 units, up 50.8% year-on-year. The company plans to launch the Mona L03 and a premium SUV in Europe from July, targeting a doubling of overseas sales in 2026. XPENG has established over 500 sales and service outlets globally, with its business model evolving from "selling cars" to a dual-track "selling cars + selling technology" approach spanning vehicle exports, component sales, flying cars, and robotics. However, the global automotive trade environment is growing increasingly complex — the EU imposes anti-subsidy tariffs on Chinese EVs, and the U.S. has levied 100% tariffs on Chinese-made EVs since 2024, creating unprecedented policy headwinds for Chinese brands going global.
